1. Conform to standards of the American National Standards Institute as specified and applicable to tile work and recommendations of the Tile Council of North America.

 

American National Standards Institute (ANSI):

 

1. Ceramic Tile Installed with Dry-Set Portland Cement Mortar

2. Load bearing, bonded, waterproof membranes for thin-set ceramic tile and dimension stone installations.

DIVISION 09 - FINISHES

 

09 30 13 - CERAMIC TILING

 

Complete installation of tile, stone, accessories and related work as indicated in the drawings.

 

1. Install ceramic tiles or other material to walls and ceilings as indicated in the drawings.

2. Install floor tiles or pavers to the existing concrete floor as indicated in the drawings.

STONE COUNTERTOP FABRICATION

  • General: Fabricate stone countertops in sizes and shapes required to comply with requirements indicated, including details on Drawings and approved Shop Drawings.

    1. Granite: Comply with recommendations.

    2. Marble: Comply with recommendations. 

  • Thickness: Provide thickness as indicated for the following:

    1. Countertop

    2. Back and End Splashes

    3. Thresholds: Fabricate to size and profile as indicated or required to provide transition between adjacent floor finishes.

    4. Edge Detail: Countertops: As shown on Drawings 

    5. Thresholds: Bevel edges of thresholds or as indicated. 

    6. Seams: Fabricate countertops without seams. If seams are required, fabricate sections indicated for joining in field, with seams as follows:
      1Bonded Seams: 1/32 inch or less in width.

    7. Cutouts and Holes for Lavatories, Sinks, and Fittings:

    8. Undercounter Lavatories: Make cutouts for undercounter lavatories in shop using
      template or pattern furnished by lavatory manufacturer. Form cutouts to smooth, even curves with edges at right angles to top. Ease juncture of cutout edges with tops, and finish edges to match tops.

    9. Fittings: Drill countertops in shop for plumbing fittings, undercounter soap dispensers, and similar items.
